In December 2008 some of the finest enterprise and business university societies in the UK came together to form the National Consortium of University Entrepreneurs (NACUE), a national organization that stimulates university enterprise.

The leading minds behind this movement were Victoria Lennox - current president of Oxford Entrepreneurs and MSc in Global Governance & Diplomacy (University of Oxford); that devised the concept, accompanied by a very selected set of enterprise societies’ leaders. Amongst them was the King’s College London Business Club, at the time led by the former president and current chairman Zain Jaffer. Early in May, NACUE held its leadership weekend at Microsoft’s headquarters in London, where the KCL Business Club’s current president Michael Tyrimos, among other society leaders, became a fellow of the organization.

NACUE is associated with prestigious organizations such as TATA Microsoft, Make Your Mark, SIFE, Princes Trust; and receives direct support from world class entrepreneurs such as Miss Julie Meyer, CEO of Adriadne Capital – also one of the 30 most influential women in Europe (according to the Wall Street Journal) as well as Mr. Doug Richard former Dragon on BBC TV Series Dragons’ Den, Founder and Chairman of Library House, Founder and Vice-Chairman of the Cambridge Angels, Chairman and CEO of Trutap, and Chairman of the Conservative Party Small Business Task Force.

According to Michael Tyrimos: “We aim to harness the entrepreneurial spirit at King’s College London and build a strong and enduring entrepreneurial culture. NACUE is a remarkable alliance, full of opportunities and we are proud to be a part of it”.

Last month the King’s College London Business club was invited at the 7th India Business Forum held at the London Business School, where we had the chance to meet a series of entrepreneurs, CEOs and authors from India.

Notably we had the honor to meet the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India Dr Rakesh Mohan, who gave a distinguishing and well structured speech on the ways and levels the credit crunch has affected India.

In a conversation between our president, Michael Tyrimos, and Dr. Mohan - Dr. Mohan revealed that he expects more downturns on the global economy even up to 2010, but things are certainly improving in comparison in comparison to the prior economic conditions. If you are interested on Indian economy we advice you to visit the speech section on the Reserve Bank’s website - click here

Furthermore, we also met analysts from Nomura, who kindly provided us with economic and political development reports on India. We would be glad to forward them to you, please contact us at info@kclbc.com if you would like a copy.
