NACUE declares KCLBC as the society of the week

Today (30.11.09), the National Consortium of University Entrepreneurs (NACUE) has declared the KCL Business Club as the society of the week, amongst the enterprise societies in the UK. The following article and picture were featured in NACUE’s newsletter:

At only two years old, King’s College London Business Club has worked hard to become one of the strongest societies in the UK.

KCLBC has been involved in NACUE from the beginning, with it’s Founder and Former President Zain Jaffer as one of the 12 Presidents who came together in December 2008 and February 2009 to conceptualise a new society support organisation which became NACUE.

The Club’s ties with NACUE are just as strong now, with the Vice President, Sarah Chen as Co-Chair for the NACUE London Network and the President, Michael Tyrimos joining her on the Student Advisory Board Member as a non-chair member. The KCLBC team have also always been on hand to assist NACUE where possible - they provided key support at our London Committtee training day and they have already offered to support our future events.

The passion and dedication of the KCLBC team, the strength of their membership and the quality of the programming on was rightfully recognised in September when the Club was Highly Commended in the Enterprise Educators Society of the Year Award.

KCLBC is built around solid principles that guarantee success. The recruitment process is tough, they work hard to acheive their goals, they pride themselves on external relations, they cultivate leaders but most importantly, they celebrate failure just as much as they celebrate success.

Michael Tyrimos, President says, “The only real failure for a leader is the abandonment of his or her vision. Difficult times are inevitable, nothing ever goes according to plan, and awful surprises are almost always around. Regardless of the situation, it is the duty of a leader towards his or her team to be: a friend to advice them, a parent to guide them, a comrade to fight with them, and a visionary to bring the change for the future.”
